"Economic Value - Buying the signature of Joseph Beuys"
The fourth show from David E. Stone’s yearlong art exhibition project, one year in LA is entitled, “Economic Value”.
This exhibition features work based on various examples of the signature of artist, Joseph Beuys. These scanned, digital images have been appropriated from various auctions selling his work on eBay, the internet global market place. To reinforce the “economic value” of Beuys’ signature, Stone presents them as a series of vinyl advertising banners and collectible trading cards dispensed from a vending machine.
